For the Broken
Our Comments –
Coming to us now is Kansas City, Missouri’s own For The Broken, and it is very plain to see that this is a band that has things together. Their ducks are in a row, and when those ducks come around…it is best to let them cross. They released their self-titled, debut album in 2011 (engineered by Robert Rebeck at Chapman Studios) and they have been steadily taking the rock world by storm ever since. They have earned some very prestigious awards, toured with many other well-known bands, and have performed at larger-than-life festivals such as Cornerstone and Rocklahoma. In both 2013 and 2014, For The Broken was voted Rock Band of the Year by Project Backstage Midwest Music Awards, and they have shared the stage with bands such as Chevelle and Drowning Pool; just to name a couple.
We at WoodBangers believe that For The Broken is a band that will continue to grow. They are currently working on releasing a new album this summer (2014), and if it is anything like the first one, their survival in the rock world is cut out for them. Songs such as “Crawling” are very good at making a home in someone’s memory, and takes like “Ain’t Nobody Innocent” are good for reminding listeners that nobody’s perfect, while also being excellent headbanging material…as the rest of their music is as well.
For The Broken is Adam Montgomery (Vocals), Joe Pluff (Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals), Mike Kennedy (Bass), Aubrey Jones (Lead & Rhythm Guitar), and Sean Devins (Drums and Backing Vocals). They have an amazing website that features samples of their music, links for buying their music, videos, and so much more at http://www.forthebroken.com.
